The Showdown
"Temptation Come My Way"
When five men from the backwoods of Tennessee decide they have nothing to lose, you never know what might result. It could be mayhem. It could be recklessness. It could be just plain killer. Or, it could be all three at the exact same time. |

- Blurred Visions of God’s Mosaic
Some people preach that if you pray the right way, or if you pray enough, or you give enough money, God will give you what you want. Maybe we don’t buy this when we see it preached on TV, but when we’re faced with tragedy, we can’t help but entertain those thoughts. Here’s the only problem ... how much is a life worth? If we could afford it, would it be worth the price of the whole mosaic? And would I really demand it from the One who did not spare His only Son so that we could all be a part of the mosaic in the first place?

No wonder I don’t hear God’s voice. I don’t know how to whisper, and I certainly don’t know how to listen for whisperings. Like Elijah, I search anxiously for the voice of the Lord in the earthquakes and mighty winds, and I assume that if God has something important enough to say to me, the wind will knock me over when He speaks. But more often than not, I think God whispers.
- Provision
Jesus explains that we have no need to worry because God provides for us since we are of so much worth to Him. In this situation, I had the rare chance of seeing God provide the solution before I even knew what the problem was.
